A polymath and a visionary economist, Professor Shanmugasundaram dedicated his life to institutional building and economic policy, serving as the first Vice-Chancellor of Manonmaniam Sundaranar University and a vital member of the State Planning Commission. This conference continues his legacy by examining how sports can serve as a catalyst for socio-economic transformation and a driver for India’s “Viksit Bharat” 2047 vision.
